Science City York works extensively in the community promoting science and technology, along with potential careers within these industries, through a number of public events and initiatives.

Working with partners, Science City York seeks to inform and inspire; connect and engage young people, their families…everyone locally!  with the wonders of science and new technologies.

Science City York’s community activities include:

• York Festival of Science and Technology that takes place every year in March as the UK celebrates National Science and Engineering Week. The festival features a wide variety of events for all the family. Make a note of 11-20 March 2011!
• Café Scientifique York is a welcoming, informal monthly discussion forum, which provides an opportunity for the public to come along and hear about contemporary scientific issues in an open and discussion orientated environment.

Science City York also works extensively with local schools and colleges to support topical events each year.
